Welcome to Tiny Furnace
Tiny Furnace is an educational hub in which research, differentiation, lessons plans, and games, are provided with the intent of being implemented within the English Language Arts classroom. All materials provided through Tiny Furnace are developed by pre-service teachers from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. As students, it is our goal to capture the essence of the rapidly evolving pedagogies which we study and attempt to provide tactile and practical implementations for instruction.
Lesson & Unit PlansWe provide a wide range of lesson and unit plans developed by students and tested within the confines of classrooms through Millikin's partnership with local schools in the area.
ResearchAs students, it is our job to borrow, adjust, and adapt pre-existing educational pedagogies to act as the basis for our own theoretical beliefs. These theories are provided through the lens of the modern classroom.

DifferentiationBecause classrooms have become increasingly inclusive and vastly more diverse, the importance of differentiation has become non-negotiable. We attempt to provide IEP guidance, assistive technology information, disability research, and RTI models to help educators meet the varied needs of their students.
GamesAs the necessity to implement gaming pedagogy and culture into the classroom is on the rise, we intend to provide educators with the necessary tools to implement gaming into their classrooms.
